BGMI Lite: Pre-Registration, Release Date, Download Size & What's Confirmed

What KRAFTON Has Confirmed

These points come straight from KRAFTON India's press release of August 19, 2026:

On accounts, the exact wording is: "For existing BGMI players, no account transfer will be required to play BGMI LITE. Players will be able to access BGMI LITE separately, without transferring their existing BGMI account." KRAFTON has not yet said which items, skins or progress, if any, will be shared between the two games.

What Is BGMI Lite?

BGMI Lite is a lighter version of Battlegrounds Mobile India. KRAFTON describes it as a more streamlined way to play that keeps the core elements of BGMI, aimed at players whose phones struggle with the full game. The small ~1GB first download is the clearest sign of that.

If you remember PUBG Mobile Lite from before 2020, the idea is similar: the same kind of battle royale, built to run on phones with less RAM and storage.

How to Pre-Register on Google Play

1. Open the Google Play Store on your Android phone.
2. Search for "BGMI Lite".
3. Open the listing and check that the developer is KRAFTON. Ignore look-alike apps from other developers.
4. Tap Pre-register. You can also turn on automatic install so the game downloads when it launches.

iPhone users will have to wait: KRAFTON says iOS details will be announced later.

What Is Not Confirmed Yet

A lot of what is written about BGMI Lite online, including some of our own earlier articles, went beyond the official announcement. As of this update, KRAFTON India has not officially confirmed:

• An exact release date. Only "by the end of 2026".
• System requirements. Some sites list minimum RAM and GPU figures, but they are not in KRAFTON India's announcement. Wait for the requirements on the Google Play listing.
• Total storage needed. ~1GB is the initial download. Some reports say maps and voice packs will be optional extra downloads, so the final size will depend on what you install.
• Whether skins, inventory or rank carry over. "No account transfer needed" does not tell us this either way.
• Whether BGMI Lite players can team up with BGMI players. Some outlets report cross-play with the main BGMI lobby, but this is not in KRAFTON India's press release.

BGMI Lite vs PUBG Mobile Light

BGMI Lite is the India-only version from KRAFTON India. PUBG Mobile Light is the global version. Reports say PUBG Mobile Light also opened pre-registration on August 25, 2026, with a global launch planned for later in 2026. If you are in India, BGMI Lite is the one to pre-register for.

Will Your BGMI Sensitivity Work in BGMI Lite?

We won't know for sure until the game is out. What is true in any shooter is that sensitivity feels different when the frame rate drops. If BGMI Lite runs at a lower FPS on your phone than BGMI did, the camera may feel a little slower, and you may want slightly higher values.

A sensible plan for launch day: start with your current BGMI settings, or pick 60 FPS in our BGMI sensitivity calculator, play a few rounds in training, then adjust one slider at a time. I'll update this section once I've tested BGMI Lite myself.

Beware of Fake BGMI Lite APK Links

Until KRAFTON releases the game, any website or Telegram channel offering a BGMI Lite "APK download" or "early access" is fake.
